Finally received my copy. I owned this album when it was originally released back in 1958, so i knew what I was getting. The inclusion of the radio material is redundant if you have the 3-CD Set "Elvis Presley-The Boy from Tupelo"; however with the inclusion of the Dorsey Bros., Milton Berle and Steve Allen TV Shows you get cleaned up sound that really comes across, not muffled! The German Home Recordings are worth a listen and the distortion is minimal as they were recorded via amateur taping. The only tune on the entire set that I would "bitch" about is the original, double tracked version of "Shake, Rattle & Roll" on side 2 of the original LP/CD listing. There's an annoying hum in the background due to the recording of Elvis & his bassist Bill Black. On the original 45RPM EP released back in 1956, one would not hear this hum on record due to the way things were recorded. All in all one of my favorites from the 1950's; a holding play by Colonel Parker & RCA while Elvis was still in the Army. Buy it!
